We are a non-conventional, non-traditional tour company designed to take you directly into the hidden parts of Cusco that are often denied to foreigners and allow you to see the land as through the eyes of the Andean people. We emphasize personal interaction with locals, the participation in traditional customs and handiwork, and the consumption of healthy, homecooked meals prepared in ceramic, wood-burning stoves using only locally grown and/or locally caught ingredients. Our tours break the barrier between foreigner and native, showcasing indigenous life up close, changing your perception of the Andes Mountains forever.
All of our tours have been custom designed by the Encuentros Andinos team. Our treks provide income to local indigenous families that have been kind enough to open their homes and share their secrets with foreigners. We care about fostering pride in local traditions and letting the native teach the foreigner their knowledge that has been passed down through countless generations.
We are here to offer you a different alternative for your stay in Cusco. All of our experiences are designed exclusively to bring you face to face with indigenous life in the Sacred Valley, inviting you to participate in ancient traditions and taste delicious homecooked meals prepared
from traditional methods. We’ve asked special permission from hidden communities to tell their stories and to show foreigners how they live, how they work, how they create, and where they sleep. Our communities are excited to take you deeper into their lives to see, smell, and taste what typical tourism companies will never show you.
